Vizcaya Museum/GardensJames Deering, the American Industrialist, built Vizcaya back in the early 1900s and he used it as his winter home from 1916 1925. Vizcaya was built as a replica to an Italian villa that stood for over 400 years. Today Vizcaya is the house of extradinary art from the America Gilded Age. As with most great properties in Miami, Vizcaya over looks Biscayne Bay and it sits on 10 beautiful acres. This is not just a Museum but it is also World Renowned Botanical Garden. There is nothing more relaxing and beautiful than strolling through the garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon looking at the different plants and butterflies. One of the things you do not want to miss is the large orchid specimens in the David A. Klein Orchidarium.
