Bass Museum of ArtThe Bass Museum is located in the Art Deco District of Miami which offers an array of European paintings, sculptures, and temporary exhibitions of contemporary and historical art from around the world. They have paintings from Picasso and Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The museum has a permanent collection of art which spans more than 500 years and four continents; this collection is the most varied in the region. The museum is house in a 1930 Art Deco building which was expanded in 2002 by Arata Isozaki, a renowned architect, and now boasts a media center, café, and gift shop. Educational programs, film series, lectures, and live performances complement the works on view in its five galleries. Note: There are live tours available every Saturday at 2:00 pm. Metered parking is available for $5 per hour. Discounted parking for Bass patrons is available at 20th and Liberty Streets. Currently the Bass Museum is displaying the Egyptian Gallery which includes mummies, ancient Egyptian artifacts. The next closest Egyptian and mummy gallery is located 667 miles away from the Bass Museum in Atlanta. The Bass Museum is located in Miami, which is only three and half hours from Orlando.
